We specialise in transporting the unusual--from oversized loads and road closures to complex routing with full police and escort support. Our expert team handles every legal, insurance, and health & safety detail, including comprehensive method statements, risk assessments, and lifting plans.
We regularly move everything from aircraft components and robotic machinery to fully grown trees, production equipment, and even museum exhibits using anything from our 8t box vehicle, extendable low loaders and hiab crane vehicles.
Why this role matters
With every movement and projects, it takes much planning and as Operations Assistant you'll be the support system in piecing it altogether. Working to tight deadlines and ensuring that all paperwork is in place and compliant.
What you'll do
Customer & Enquiry Handling
Answer telephone calls and take enquiries using the enquiry form provided.
Book site surveys into the diary, ensuring all details (contact name, company, telephone, time) are accurately recorded.
Create and send crane hire acknowledgements to customers and suppliers.
Documentation & Typing
Print and type up site survey details.
Scan completed site surveys and link them with corresponding pricing documents.
Type and format quotations based on provided information.
Prepare and send formal quotations to customers.
Chase quotations with customers if no response has been received.
Scan delivery paperwork into the system.
Training & Compliance
Book training for staff (e.g., forklift, manual handling).
Manage FORS accreditation requirements, including e-learning questionnaires, dashboard updates, and campaign templates.
Ensure toolbox talks are printed, signed off, and scanned against each driver/operator.
Maintain the drivers' notice board with memos and health & safety information.
Filing & Office Organisation
Organise filing cabinets, clearing old documents, and creating new relevant folders.
Maintain an up-to-date insurance schedule using company website/excel spreadsheet.
Order uniforms and check uniform stock.
Monitor first aid items (in coordination with the appointed first aider) to ensure they are in date and stocked.
Manage stationery supplies (paper, essentials) when required.
Scheduling & Records
Maintain and update the vehicle schedule (Excel/diary).
Manage insurance schedules for equipment.
Produce adhoc Palletline quotes using the quoting schedule.
The skills & experience you'll bring
Knowledge of working within traffic office and dealing with mobile cranes
Calm problem-solver with sharp attention to safety detail
Strong communicator-- on site and with our customers.
IT-literate (TMS, Excel, online permit systems)
