At Thorntons Law, every moment matters. Join the Trusts team in our Private Client department as an Administration Assistant and you'll feel inspired. You'll feel connected. You'll feel like you belong. And it all begins from the moment you join us.
That's because we've created a different kind of law firm. Here, you'll build relationships with clients and colleagues that really last. You'll help shape what happens now, and what comes next. And we'll support and encourage you to be the best you can be.
This is what life at Thorntons is all about. And this is your moment to be part of it.
About the role
In this role, you'll support the smooth administration of trusts, working closely with senior colleagues and external advisers. You'll help keep trust records accurate and up to date, assist with financial and tax reporting, and play a key part in day-to-day compliance and client communication.
Financial Support - Recording income and expenses, assisting with trust accounts, and reconciling bank and investment records.
Client Communication - Drafting routine correspondence, managing queries, and helping to organise trustee meetings.
Compliance & Tax Admin - Supporting AML/KYC checks, gathering tax return information, and helping meet reporting deadlines.
Asset & Investment Tracking - Keeping asset schedules updated, processing basic transactions, and liaising with trust managers in your team and external financial providers.
Team Support - Providing general admin support to fee earners and being a helpful part of a collaborative Private Client team.
What you'll need
We're looking for:
A strong sense of organisation and attention to detail--you're confident working with important documents and financial information.
Good communication skills and a professional, friendly approach when dealing with clients, trustees, and colleagues.
Confidence using IT systems and databases, with a willingness to learn new tools--training and support will be provided.
The ability to manage your time well, especially when juggling admin tasks, deadlines, and occasional ad-hoc requests.
A proactive attitude--you like solving problems, spotting improvements, and taking initiative in your day-to-day work.
A team player mindset, always happy to support others and contribute to the smooth running of the wider team.
A careful and responsible approach to handling confidential information and trust-related records.
An interest in trusts, finance or private client work, and in building a career in a professional services environment.
