Job Description


We are recruiting for the role of Business Services Officer in our team covering Oxford.

We trust and empower colleagues to work in a hybrid way, providing the resources, equipment, and support, so that individually and collectively, we can be the voice of children and young people when the family court makes critical decisions about their futures.

The Business Services Officer position is a flexible/hybrid working position. However, you will be expected to attend the office to facilitate any meetings with children and families and to oversee maintenance appointments, however the office is open all day every weekday should you wish to work from that space.

This means that some weeks there may be an expectation that attendance is every day whereas others it may be very minimal. This is unpredictable, dictated by the needs of the services and therefore set office-based days cannot be agreed.

As a Business Services Officer you will contribute to the effective and efficient management and progression of cases, providing administrative support to the local Family Court Advisers and Service Managers. Should you join us your tasks will include:

Monitoring case progression

  • Receiving referrals from the Court or Cafcass Intake Team
  • Create / update / close cases within our case management system
  • Sending letters and information packs to service users
  • Identify any missing information and follow-up as required
  • Receive and deal with telephone enquiries
  • Meet and greet visitors, including service users
  • General admin support

  • A relevant qualification in business administration (e.g. NVQ2), a willingness to work towards to a qualification and/or significant experience in a similar role
  • Confident and capable of using MS Office applications to a basic / intermediate level
  • Clear, confident communicator via email, phone and in person
  • Someone who thrives working in a team
  • Able to prioritise work in a fast-moving environment with strict deadlines
