Devon Tree Services Ltd is a long-established and well-respected arboricultural contractor and consultancy, working across Devon and the wider South West. We are proud to deliver high-quality tree care and vegetation management services to a range of domestic, commercial, and public-sector clients.
We are looking for a highly organised and proactive Administrator to join our friendly and professional office team. This is a varied role within a fast-paced environment, supporting both the operational and management teams to ensure the smooth delivery of our projects.
Key Responsibilities
Act as the first point of contact for our domestic and commercial clients, managing enquiries via phone and email.
Arrange appointments for quotations and book in approved works.
Prepare and submit tree work applications to Local Planning Authorities for Tree Preservation Orders and Conservation Area consent.
Support the Operations Manager and tree work teams with day-to-day scheduling, record keeping, and documentation.
Raise purchase orders and coordinate the ordering of materials and equipment required for jobs.
Submit traffic management requests and liaise with subcontractors and suppliers to ensure all job requirements are met.
Send invoices, take payments, and maintain accurate client and job records within our management systems.
Provide general administrative support.
The Ideal Candidate Will Have
Strong organisational and communication skills with excellent attention to detail.
A confident and professional telephone manner.
Competence using Microsoft Office and general computer systems (experience with ServiceM8 or similar job management software is advantageous).
The ability to prioritise workload and work effectively under pressure.
A positive, proactive attitude and the ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
Experience within an administrative, customer service, or scheduling role (ideally within the arboricultural, construction, or environmental sectors, though not essential).
