JOB TITLE: Administrator to the Nursing Team

REPORTS TO: Lead Nurse



HOURS: 16 hours per week



Closing date: 5 p.m. 10th June or earlier if sufficient suitable applications are received. Interview date 23rd June.



Job summary:



Provide general administrative and organisational assistance to the nursing team.

Job responsibilities: (this list is not exhaustive)



Stock all clinical rooms - restock and clean clinical trolley, footstool and scales every 2 weeks.

Manage & order stock for Cleaners / Pathology / PCSE

Run the cervical screening recall - ensure Cervical Screening Management System is kept up to date sending patients who need to be invited by them and reminders from the Practice. Run searches for third recall and send reminder. Add to waiting list Make sure patients are ceased if over 64 and if have had a hysterectomy. File all smear results.

Run the coil and Implanon recall and booking program - book from waiting list ensuring swabs carried out where necessary. Book appointments, send prescriptions and make sure confirmation received. Send recalls from a monthly report. Log monthly coils and implants on Outcomes4Health for claim.

Run the minor ops program

Home Blood Pressure Monitors - book out home blood pressure monitors from the waiting list. Maintain a record of bookings and place the machines in the appropriate rooms ready for the appointment. Calculate and log average BP upon return of the machines. Chase all machines not returned. Get all machines in and make available when calibration is due. Liaise with the requestor regarding DNA's or persistent cancellations.

Respiratory - Book FeNO's and Spiros from waiting list.

Process referrals for HealthiER All in One and Retinal Screening.

Near Patient Testing - send/generate blood forms and make appointments for regular monitoring at regular intervals. Set up scheduled tasks for ongoing monitoring.

Minor Surgery - - book appointments from waiting list, ensuring get confirmation. Cary out monthly quality audit for infection following surgery. Report results.

Organise the annual calibration of all clinical equipment in conjunction with Lead Nurse.

Vaccinations - audit vaccine stock and report to relevant people (various). Organise vaccination campaigns for Shingles/RSV/Pneumonia/Covid/Flu (list is not exhaustive) to include running searches, sending invitations, monitoring booking and appointment levels.

Reorganise appointments on the occasion that a member of the nursing team has to cancel a rota at short notice (only when available to do so).

Pick up other duties as required.
