Our Lady of Sion School, Worthing

Our Lady of Sion is an independent co-educational day school located in the heart of Worthing, with approximately 300 pupils aged 3-18 years. Founded in 1862, the School combines a proud heritage with a vibrant, forward-looking ethos. Our diverse community welcomes staff and pupils of all faiths and backgrounds. Under our care, the next generation of Sionians explore the world around them, develop a lifelong passion for learning, and respond with compassion to the needs of others.

We have an exciting opportunity for an

Admissions and Outreach Coordinator

to join our small, friendly team. This is a pivotal role responsible for delivering a professional, efficient, and welcoming admissions service to prospective families and feeder schools and nurseries, ensuring every interaction leaves a positive impression of the school.

You will manage admissions from initial enquiries through to enrolment, including open days, taster mornings, applications, assessments, and the induction of new students. You will handle parent enquiries across all entry points to the Nursery and Junior and Senior Schools, maintain communications through the prospective parent portal, and support the production of handbooks and other materials in collaboration with Marketing and the Senior Leadership Team.

In addition to admissions, and with the support of the Senior Leadership Team, you will play a key role in our Outreach Programme, including initiatives such as the Original Minds Circle, promoting Sion across Worthing and the surrounding counties. You will help young people engage with inspirational lectures, creative workshops, and debates, supporting their development, curiosity, and ambition, while raising the school's profile locally and regionally.

The ideal candidate will combine energy, warmth, professionalism, and excellent organisational skills with strong IT and data management abilities. This role offers a rare opportunity to blend operational excellence with creative outreach, making a lasting impact on students, families, and the wider school community.

We are seeking a candidate who demonstrates professionalism, enthusiasm, and a commitment to excellence in every aspect of their work. In particular, the successful candidate will have:

Exceptional IT and administrative skills, combined with a genuine enthusiasm for engaging with people and delivering outstanding service.

Proven experience in customer care, ideally within a relevant environment, together with a clear understanding of the principles of excellent customer service in the independent school's sector.

High personal standards, evidenced by a consistently thorough, organised, and detail-focused approach, with a relentless commitment to delivering an outstanding experience for all stakeholders.

The ability to manage and prioritise a varied workload, meet deadlines efficiently, and remain calm and professional under pressure.

An obvious love for education and learning, reflecting the value we place on scholarship.

A commitment to the wellbeing of the whole school community, demonstrating care and support for pupils, families, and colleagues alike.

A dedication to promoting and exemplifying the Sion ethos, proactively modelling the values and culture of the school in all interactions with internal and external stakeholders.

An enjoyment of reaching out into the community to raise the profile of Sion Education, enjoying liaising with the school's leaders and our marketing partners.

What we can offer you:

The opportunity to join our lovely school of around 300 students aged 3-18, supported by a hugely talented and hard-working staff team

Polite, respectful, committed students who are positive and active learners

Excellent professional development and guidance

An ethos of kindness and consideration that is actively lived out
