About the role
We are looking for a friendly, organised and detail-oriented Admissions Assistant to join the team at Downsend School. Reporting to the Admissions Manager, you will play a vital role in supporting the recruitment and admissions process for pupils from Nursery to Sixth Form. You'll be an ambassador for our school, delivering exceptional customer service to prospective families, managing enquiries, coordinating visits and events, and maintaining accurate data throughout the admissions journey.
This is a varied, people-focused role that requires a proactive and professional individual who is confident engaging with families, pupils and colleagues. As part of a high-performing and supportive team, your work will help shape the first impressions families have of Downsend and ensure their journey through admissions is smooth, informative and welcoming.

Essentials:
Excellent people skills, with a strong service ethic and the ability to deliver exceptional service
Embodies the values of care, adaptability and excellence, with the ability to handle sensitive situations with empathy and discretion
Previous experience in a customer service, data-driven or sales-oriented role is essential, and experience in an education setting or with admissions systems such as iSAMS is desirable.
Ability to use multiple data systems and web-based applications accurately and efficiently
Experience working in a fast-moving environment and the ability to manage conflicting priorities
Proficiency in MS Office and cloud-based platforms
A good standard of general education, ideally including A Levels or equivalent qualifications
