About the role

An exciting opportunity has arisen to join the Adult Mental Health Social Work Service in Cambridgeshire; we have a Social Worker post available within our Huntingdon/Fenland Mental Health Social Care team. We are looking for a dedicated individual wanting to develop their career as a Social Worker into the inspiring area of mental health.

What will you be doing?

The Huntingdon/Fenland mental health social care team is a team comprised of team manager, senior social workers, social workers and a support worker supporting adults who are experiencing severe and enduring mental health difficulties. Social Work input is aimed at recognising people's strengths, enabling people to exert choice and to live fulfilled lives, whilst supporting them to minimise risks to their well-being. There is a strong culture of support within the team and colleagues are willing to share knowledge, support and experience.



Cambridgeshire County Council has adopted an approach to social work and social care to make it increasingly proactive, preventative and personalised. This is focused on holistic and creative solutions to enable individuals to meet their aspirations through the care and support planning process. You will be bringing this approach working closely alongside health colleagues, providing a social perspective to understanding people's mental health challenges.




About you

The essential criteria for the post will require that you have a recognised social work qualification, have a current HCPC registration and a proven track record that demonstrates your knowledge, skills and experience of social work in the field.


The successful candidate must be willing to travel independently.


As a Social Worker within the Mental Health service an AMHP qualification or willingness to train towards this is essential.
