We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Support Worker to join our team. In this role, you will provide essential care and assistance to individuals in various settings, including nursing homes, hospice care, and home care environments. Your primary focus will be on enhancing the quality of life for those you support through personal care, medication administration, and behaviour management. This position requires a commitment to delivering high-quality care while ensuring the safety and comfort of our clients.
Responsibilities
Assist clients with daily living activities, including personal hygiene, dressing, and mobility support.
Provide medication administration as per prescribed guidelines, ensuring adherence to safety protocols.
Engage in meal preparation, catering to dietary requirements and preferences of clients.
Support clients with behaviour management strategies to promote positive interactions and well-being.
Perform heavy lifting when necessary to assist clients with mobility or transfers.
Maintain accurate records of client progress and report any changes in health or behaviour to the appropriate healthcare professionals.
Foster a supportive and respectful environment that encourages independence and dignity for all clients.
Experience
Previous experience in a similar role within nursing homes or hospice care is highly desirable.
A background in nursing or relevant healthcare qualifications will be advantageous.
Demonstrated ability in home care settings is preferred, showcasing skills in personal care and client engagement.
Strong communication skills with the ability to build rapport with clients and their families.
A compassionate approach with a genuine desire to improve the lives of those you support is essential.
