Quantity Surveyor

As our company grows and develops, we are ever expanding our teams. We have a great opportunity for a dedicated Quantity Surveyor to join our Advisory Division.


SOCOTEC Advisory is a chartered quantity surveying and expert witness consultancy, renowned for its team of industry-recognised experts and delivery of robust and quality services. Our team is made up of approximately 60 quantity surveyors with a broad spectrum of experience. This allows the delivery of services across most sectors, including residential, infrastructure and marine, in both public and private sectors and enables expertise to be shared across the company.


We are looking for a proactive, reliable and flexible Quantity Surveyor to join our team who is working towards being the lead on commercial activities on construction related projects.


The tasks you will undertake, with some supervision and training, will include (but are not limited to):


Assist in establishing client's requirements and undertake cost planning exercises Have an understanding and developing an opinion on procurement strategies Prepare tender and contract documents, including ITT pack for checking by senior staff Value completed works and arrange payments in accordance with the contract Be able to produce draft project or claim reports under the supervision of senior staff Issue notices in accordance with the contract Liaise and confidently communicate with other members of the project or client team Able to prepare draft final accounts An understanding of ADR methods

To be successful in this role, you will be able to demonstrate:


A focused collaborative approach to working within a team and the wider company Proactive in career development and further learning Knowledge of current building and construction technology, cost planning and legal matters Willing to assist with trainee and assistant members of staff Proven ability to write clear and precise documents Good organisational skills
