We are seeking a skilled and motivated Advanced Clinical Practitioner (ACP) to join our Urgent Treatment Centre (UTC) and Out-of-Hours (OOH) service in Leicestershire. The successful candidate will provide high-quality, patient-centered care, managing a diverse range of acute and urgent health conditions in a fast-paced environment. This role involves working collaboratively with a multidisciplinary team to deliver exceptional healthcare services during weekdays and weekends.
Key Responsibilities
Independently assess, diagnose, and treat patients presenting with acute and urgent conditions in the UTC and OOH settings.
Perform advanced clinical procedures within the scope of practice, including prescribing medications, ordering and interpreting diagnostic tests, and referring patients to specialists as needed.
Work collaboratively with GPs, nurses, paramedics, and other healthcare professionals to ensure seamless patient care.
Maintain accurate and timely patient records in compliance with clinical governance and data protection regulations.
Provide health education and advice to patients and their families to promote self-management and prevent recurrence of conditions.
Participate in clinical audits, quality improvement initiatives, and service development to enhance patient outcomes.
Adhere to all relevant policies, procedures, and guidelines, including those set by the NHS, CQC, and local healthcare authorities.
Essential Qualifications and Experience
Registered healthcare professional (e.g., Nurse, Paramedic, or Pharmacist) with a valid UK registration (NMC, HCPC, or equivalent).
MSc in Advanced Clinical Practice or 2 Level 7 certificates
Non-Medical Prescribing (V300) qualification.
Significant experience in urgent care, primary care, or a related acute care setting.
Competence in managing a wide range of acute and chronic conditions across all age groups.
Ability to work autonomously and make sound clinical decisions under pressure.
Desirable Qualifications and Experience
Experience working in a UTC or OOH service.
Leadership or mentorship experience within a clinical setting.
Training in minor injuries, pediatric care, or mental health assessments.
Skills and Abilities
Excellent clinical assessment and diagnostic skills.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills to engage with patients, families, and colleagues.
Ability to work effectively in a multidisciplinary team and adapt to a fast-paced environment.
Proficient IT skills for managing electronic patient records and clinical systems.
Commitment to continuous professional development and evidence-based practice.
Working Hours
Flexible shifts covering weekdays and weekends, including daytime, evening, and night shifts as required by the UTC/OOH service.
Part-time and full-time opportunities available, with the option to discuss preferred working patterns.
