Castle Mead Medical Centre (CMMC) are excited to offer a full-time opportunity for an Advanced Nurse Practitioner to join our experienced and supportive clinical team.

We're looking for an independent prescriber, preferably trained to master's level, who works autonomously and can manage a wide range of acute and chronic conditions.

Practice Profile



We are a large, well established GP surgery, with sites in Hinckley town centre and a smaller dispensing practice in the village of Stoke Golding.

We are an integral part of the Hinckley Central PCN and collaborate closely with other practices within the Hinckley and Bosworth Federation.

11,000 patient list size over two sites. SystmOne practice. The clinical team includes 4x partners, 4x Salaried GPs, 1x ANP, 1x Paramedic Practitioner, 2x Practice Nurses, 1x Nurse Associate, 2x HCAs, 2x Clinical Pharmacist, 3x Social Prescribers and 1x Work well Coach with a complement of management, administrative and reception staff.
Hybrid appointment model, instead of total triage, with online requests for routine consultations and admin requests, but maintaining telephone contact via our reception care navigation team for clinically urgent appointments.

We are a teaching and training practice with GP registrars and Medical Students from the University of Leicester (1st, 3rd and 5th years). High QOF / PCN DES / IIF achievement. High standard of Chronic Disease management including Enhanced Service in Diabetes.

About You



You will be an experienced autonomous practitioner in primary care, with excellent communication and decision-making skills. You will be willing to be an important part of our close-knit supportive team. You will have strong minor illness expertise but also be able to manage complex and long-term conditions. You will be an independent prescriber and preferably hold, or be working towards, a Master's qualification. Registered Nurse with NMC registration. Experience working as an Advanced Nurse Practitioner within General Practice would be advantageous. Familiarity with SystmOne or Clarity Teamnet is beneficial but full training would be given.

Duties & Responsibilities



Manage on the day appointments alongside the Duty Doctor. Autonomously assess, examine, diagnose, plan, implement and evaluate treatment for patients. Manage acute and chronic conditions, including undifferentiated presentations, referring to appropriate clinicians when needed. Request, interpret and act upon diagnostic investigations such as blood tests, microbiology results or imaging, with appropriate senior clinician support where needed. Prescribe safely and effectively in line with local formularies. Support patients in adopting health promotion strategies, lifestyle changes and self-management. Communicate clearly and compassionately, ensuring patients understand options and are able to provide informed consent. Accurately maintain electronic and written records in accordance with practice policies and professional standards. Respond confidently in emergency situations (e.g., cardiac arrest, anaphylaxis, safeguarding concerns) in line with clinical protocols. Take independent responsibility for personal clinical practice and workload with support as required.

Professional Standards



Work within the NMC code of practice. Work collaboratively with nursing, medical, and administrative teams, attending relevant team meetings. Support and participate in clinical audits and service evaluation when required. Contribute to the development of clinical policies, pathways and practice improvements. Report complaints, incidents and near misses, contributing to risk reduction and organisational learning. Maintain ongoing professional development and engage in clinical supervision and reflective practice. Proactively identify learning needs and participate in training to ensure safe clinical practice. Provide clinical support to the development of colleagues including engagement with medical students.

Pay: 45,000.00-54,000.00 per year
