Job Summary



We are seeking autonomous, experienced

Advanced Nurse Practitioners

to deliver high-quality, patient-centred urgent care in our modern Urgent Care Centres across Leicestershire.

You will independently assess, diagnose, treat and discharge/refer patients presenting with minor injuries and minor illnesses, working at the top of your clinical licence within an evidence-based framework.

This is an exciting opportunity to join a forward-thinking urgent care service that is reducing pressure on local Emergency Departments while improving access for the community.

Key Responsibilities



Undertake comprehensive patient assessments (history, examination, diagnostics) for undifferentiated and undiagnosed presentations. Prescribe medicines as an

independent prescriber

(V300 qualification essential). Manage minor injuries (wounds, fractures, burns, head injuries) and minor illnesses (RTIs, UTIs, abdominal pain, paediatric presentations). Perform procedures: suturing, wound care, plastering, joint aspiration/injection, ring block, foreign body removal. Safeguard vulnerable adults and children; recognise red flags and escalate appropriately. Triage and streaming of patients arriving via NHS 111, walk-in or ambulance. Participate in 7-day rota including evenings (up to 22:00), weekends and bank holidays.

Essential Qualifications



Registered Nurse (Adult)

- NMC registration (no restrictions).

MSc Advanced Clinical Practice

(or equivalent Level 7 ACP qualification).

Independent Prescriber (V300)

- active on NMC register.

Minor Illness & Minor Injury

qualifications (or willing to complete within 6 months).
Essential Experience

Minimum

3 years post-qualification ANP experience

in urgent care, ED, walk-in centre or primary care. Proven ability to work

autonomously

with full episode of care. Experience of

Prescribing

across a broad range of acute presentations.
Essential Skills & Attributes

Excellent clinical decision-making under pressure. Strong communication & empathy with diverse patient groups. IT proficiency: SystmOne / Adastra / Lorenzo (training provided). Ability to work in a fast-paced, high-volume environment.
Desirable

Paediatric assessment skills / PILS or APLS. Leadership or management qualification. Experience in telephone triage (NHS 111 pathways).

Contract length: 12 months

Pay: 45.00-50.00 per hour

Expected hours: 30 per week

Work Location: In person
