About the Role
We are seeking experienced
Advanced Nurse Practitioners (ANPs)
or
Advanced Clinical Practitioners (ACPs)
to provide high-quality, autonomous urgent care on a locum basis across multiple Urgent Treatment Centres in Greater Manchester.
These modern, well-equipped UTCs manage minor injuries and illnesses, helping to relieve pressure on local A&E departments. You will work as part of a supportive multidisciplinary team including GPs, ENPs, physicians associates, and healthcare assistants, delivering timely, patient-centred care to walk-in and referred patients.

Key Responsibilities
Autonomously assess, diagnose, treat, and discharge or refer patients presenting with undifferentiated minor injuries and illnesses.
Perform clinical examinations, and prescribe medications independently.
Manage a wide range of urgent presentations including wounds, fractures, infections, respiratory conditions, abdominal pain, and paediatric cases.
Provide health promotion advice and signposting to appropriate services.
Maintain accurate and contemporaneous clinical records using SystemOne or EMIS Web.
Work collaboratively with the wider team, offering clinical leadership and support to junior staff where appropriate.
Adhere to local and national guidelines, safeguarding protocols, and infection prevention standards.
Participate in clinical governance activities as required (e.g., audit, incident reporting).
Essential Requirements
Registered healthcare professional (NMC or HCPC) with current registration.
MSc in Advanced Clinical Practice (or equivalent) with Independent Prescribing qualification (V300).
Significant post-qualification experience in urgent care, emergency medicine, or primary care at advanced practice level.
Competent in minor injuries and minor illness management.
IRMER-trained (or willing to undertake) for X-ray interpretation (desirable for many shifts).
Excellent clinical decision-making skills with the ability to work autonomously under pressure.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with a patient-focused approach.
Flexibility to work a variety of 12-hour shifts, including evenings, nights, and weekends.
Right to work in the UK and up-to-date mandatory training (including safeguarding levels 3, BLS/ILS/ALS as appropriate).
Desirable
Experience working in Urgent Treatment Centres, Walk-in Centres, or Emergency Departments.
Paediatric advanced practice experience.
Familiarity with SystemOne clinical system.
Additional qualifications (e.g., ALS, PILS, minor surgery).
