team is leading the charge in delivering the next generation of
high-performance readback sensors

About the role - you will:
Leveraging our high-tech wafer fabrication facility in Derry UK, with state-of-the-art manufacturing processes and design tools, you will be part of the research and development team responsible for Seagate's future HDD products. You'll work closely with global development teams and product/design engineers to build, test, and characterize nano-scale devices. Your focus will be on
wafer-level probe testing, process yield analysis, and device performance optimization.
You will:
As a key player in
device probe and process yield,
you will drive innovation in nano-scale head devices, ensuring
precision in critical dimensions, process sigmas and device yield.
Your expertise will shape next-generation storage technology through:
Developing and deploying wafer-level probe tests for process module/wafer performance and health monitoring.
Iterative optimisation to mature new processes for functionality, performance and yield.
Perform analysis of wafer data, failure analysis and characterization to quantify process capability.
Monitor trends in wafer probe data, set process specs and work with the wider team to resolve process excursions.
Work with colleagues in development teams to understand future technologies and test requirements
Work to advance capability of current probe equipment and engage with equipment vendors to define, demo and procure next generation of probe equipment.
About you:

Your experience includes:
Educational background should be in physics, electrical engineering, material science, or a related field.
Graduated with PhD within the last 24mths or within the next 6mths.
Expertise in nano device physics including magnetics, transport properties and electronics.
Lab experimentation including proficiency with lab test electronics and data collection software environments
Experience with wafer level device build and test including use of CAD and DispView, JMP, 4-pt probe, wafer probe and advanced magnetic device test equipment such as SQUID, PPMS.
