Job description

We are looking to appoint a suitably qualified, enthusiastic and dedicated Advanced Teaching Assistant with EYFS experience to become part of our successful team. You will be working to support teaching with our Reception and Year 1 children and teaching individuals or small groups of pupils under the direction of the class teacher.

Key Responsibilities:

Provide support to the teaching staff during lessons Provide support and empathy to all children, staff and parents & carers

Communicate effectively with all children, staff and parents & carers

Know that communication is a two-way process

Resolve minor disputes between pupils in a calm and professional manner

Follow the school's Behaviour policy and management strategies Be efficient and effective with record keeping and reporting

Follow the school's Safeguarding and Child Protection policies Deal with minor first aid incidents

Help to supervise the playground, sports field, cloakrooms, classrooms and bathrooms during break times where required Have a clear ability to work in a team and also have the skill to be pro-active and think for yourself

Be aware of your own professional boundaries

Escort children to and from school transport, church and chapel assemblies Participate in the school's appraisal cycle

Attend and complete training as required by the Head Teacher




As part of the safeguarding recruitment process, an Enhanced Level Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) is required for appointment prior to starting this post. The NYC DBS provides employers with information from the police and appropriate barred lists to help determine the suitability of an applicant to work in a post that involves working with children or vulnerable groups.
