About the role (External)
About the team
You will be part of a team that provides expert advice and undertakes advanced timetable development to meet the needs of the industry. The team works closely with regional peers and project teams to identify and enable change to future timetables. We do this by undertaking analysis and providing expert inputs to industry decision making through Event Steering Groups and development timetable processes. You will be at the centre of the team and we're looking for an enthusiastic and motivated individual who wants to make a real difference in shaping a rail network ready for the demands of tomorrow.
What does the average day look like?
In this role, you will take responsibility for the leadership, development and management of a team to deliver capacity analysis for customers such as the Department for Transport, Network Rail Regions, Major Programmes, Train Operating Companies and Freight Operating Companies. This includes working with stakeholders to identify priority analysis, collaborating with colleagues to ensure cohesion across industry and using project management techniques to deliver analysis to time, cost and quality.
You'll balance hands-on leadership with forward-thinking strategy -- managing resources, setting priorities, and ensuring your team delivers accurate, high-quality analysis on time. Collaboration is key, so you'll regularly work with colleagues across Network Rail and the Industry to share best practice, enhance processes, and drive continuous improvement. Alongside this, you'll invest time in developing your team -- coaching, mentoring, and identifying growth opportunities to strengthen capability and performance.
Every day offers the chance to influence how the rail network is planned, operated, and optimised making a tangible impact on the future of rail capacity across the country.
