Position Summary

The AEM Technical Architect is expected to be the most knowledgeable technical resource on the project. Technical Architects validate and enhance designs from a Solutions Architect to ensure technical feasibility and best development practices within a technical domain.

They work on the most challenging technical tasks, either hands-on or by guiding developers. The Technical Architect should have a deep understanding of how to configure AEM, as well as how to use the OSGi layer, and have the ability to integrate into other marketing and IT systems.

Additionally, they provide oversight and technical project management to ensure quality of work performed and aid in team system setup, code reviews, knowledge transfer, mentoring, and leadership in challenging project tasks.

Essential Job Duties & Responsibilities

Provide senior technical leadership on multiple, diverse and complex Adobe Experience Manager (AEM) projects simultaneously, guiding project managers, technical leads, and senior developers Analyze the technical requirements of enterprise-scale projects, develop and document technical solutions, and defend architectural decisions before client enterprise architecture boards Define integration points between AEM and enterprise systems (e.g., e-commerce platforms such as Magento, CRM, ERP, search) Develop multi-year, multi-project architectural roadmaps for clients Lead technical deep dives and troubleshooting for client AEM implementations Develop, implement, and configure web content management solutions using AEM and technologies such as Java, HTML/DHTML, XML, JavaScript, and web services Setup and configure AEM environments, Author/Publish instances, and dispatcher or proxy Translate business requirements into technical details relevant to AEM Ensure high-quality code for both self and team members Design reusable AEM components for content authoring Provide input into estimating engagement activities and execute engagements following Agile methodology (SCRUM)
Qualifications

Bachelor's degree (Computer Science preferred) or equivalent industry experience 5+ years of web content management system experience, including Adobe Experience Manager (6.0+, ideally 6.5) Strong Java/J2EE/JSP experience - minimum 5 years developing large-scale system applications Working knowledge of: JCR, Apache Sling, Apache Felix, OSGi, REST, JavaScript, jQuery, AJAX, JSON, HTML, CSS Ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines
Preferred Skills & Technologies

AEM Developer or Architect certification AWS Cloud knowledge Additional technical certifications a plus
