Job Description

We are seeking to recruit a new team member to assist the running of our out of school club, as well as during the school holidays to match the same amount of hours as a minimum, however more may be available. The candidate must be over 21 years of age and hold a full UK drivers licence which must have been held for at least 2 years for insurance purposes.

Applicants must be confident, capable and able to work on own initiative within the role. There are timelines, which can sometimes mean working within tight deadlines, with good planning and organisational skills required. The job will require candidates to plan route for after school collections and work within the timings of the end of school day.

A relevant childcare/early years qualification would be preferred however is not essential as full training will be provided. We will require an enhanced DBS to be completed and a minimum of 2 suitable references must be sought and available, relevant first aid training will be required to be completed and any other training deemed suitable for the needs of the children.

The job role is for after school collections and cover for the busier days children attend during holiday club, with children aged 4-11 years. Additional cover may be available or offered to cover term times if required or available, this can be discussed at interview stage. Out of school club for children will require a level of imaginations and flexible thinking and an ability to do for planning activities and events that the children can take part in liaising with management and senior staff , to provide fun and engaging sessions for the children to enjoy.

Holiday club operates Monday to Friday between 8am and 6pm, children attend varying days and shifts during school holidays, so an ability to plan and be adaptable for the differing needs of the children is a must, being able to look ahead and involve the children in ideas and events they may like to participate in and explore when attending..

You must have a caring, calm nature and a passion for looking after children, providing a fun and stimulating environment for them to enjoy and feel valued. You must be inclusive and supportive, with positive personality for the children to warm to. Additional training is offered throughout employment to support both adults and children at the setting.
