16 hours per week, Term Time Only (Monday - Friday)

Pay:

12.60 - 12.90 per hour

Role Overview

The After School Club Practitioner supports the delivery of a safe, fun, and nurturing environment for primary-aged children at the end of the school day. The role involves planning and leading engaging activities, supporting children's well-being and development, and ensuring the smooth running of the club in line with safeguarding, health, and safety requirements. You will be a positive, enthusiastic presence who helps children feel secure, happy, and valued.

Key Responsibilities

Plan, prepare, and deliver a varied programme of creative, educational, and recreational activities (e.g., games, crafts, sports, storytelling).

Adapt activities to suit different ages, abilities, and interests.

Encourage positive play, confidence, teamwork, and social development.

Supervise children at all times, ensuring safety, engagement, and well-being.

Support behaviour management using positive strategies.

Assist with basic personal care (e.g., toileting, dressing) where required.

Follow all safeguarding and child protection procedures.

Maintain a clean, safe, and welcoming environment.

Prepare healthy snacks and promote good hygiene.

Administer basic first aid when necessary (training can be provided).

Ensure secure collection arrangements and accurate attendance registers.

Essential Skills & Attributes

Experience working with primary-aged children in a play, education, or care setting.

Creative, enthusiastic, patient, and committed to children's well-being.

Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

Ability to follow safeguarding, health, and safety procedures.

Basic paediatric first aid knowledge (or willingness to undertake training).

Reliable, organised, and able to work independently as well as within a team.
