Fun Science Alton and Farnham runs hands-on science themed after school clubs, holiday clubs, parties and workshops in the Alton, Farnham, Basingstoke and Guildford areas.

We are looking for an enthusiastic individual with experience of working with children and the confidence to manage a group of up to 20 children completing science related activities. You will run hour-long after school clubs on 2 - 5 afternoons per week (Monday - Friday) in schools in and around Alton, Basingstoke and Farnham.

You will need to be positive, confident talking to a group of children and able to take charge of the group to ensure they are able to work through the experiments which may include slime making, fizzing potions, rocket launches and hair raising fun.

You will be given all the equipment and training you need to run the sessions and will work with the same group of children aged 4-11 each week for a term. You will need to be available from around 2pm - 5pm on at least two days a week.

Work during school holidays at holiday clubs is also available. There may be further opportunities for work including one off workshops and birthday parties.

The rate of pay is 25 - 35 per session which includes 15 minutes setting up, an hour long session and then 15-20 minutes packing away/tidying up. Holiday club pay is 12.50/hour (100/day).

To start in January 2026. To begin with you will shadow current clubs and then take over working those ones. After the first term there will be more opportunity to have a say in the schools that you work in.

You will need to transport a box of equipment to each session so your own car is essential but full mileage is paid.

The ability to pass an enhanced DBS check and experience working with children in the target age range is essential. You must not apply for this job if you are on the barred list or have been disqualified from working with children.

Providing false information is an offence and could result in the application being rejected or summary dismissal if the applicant has been selected, and referral to the police and/or the DBS.
