Fun Science runs hands-on science themed-parties, workshops, after school clubs and holiday clubs in the Bath, Bristol and Wiltshire area. We are a small but ever growing team with a passion for getting children excited about science! We have an increasing demand for after school clubs and are always looking for new members to join our team so we can offer our clubs to more schools.

We are looking for an enthusiastic individual with a passion for working with children to run our hour-long after school clubs on between 2 and 5 afternoons per week (Monday - Friday) in schools in and around Bath, Bristol and Wiltshire. You will be given all the equipment and training you need to run the sessions and will work with the same group of children aged 4-11 each week. Sessions are great fun and may include launching rockets, making slime or building robots! Each session lasts for 1 hour but you will be paid for 2 hours per session to give you time to set up and pack away. Typically sessions run from 3.15-4.15 though some timings vary slightly. Sessions could be up to 30 miles away but usually are in Bath or Bristol.

You will be contracted for 4-10 hours per week, term time only, with the possibility of further work and we are also able to offer you work at our holiday clubs in school holidays. There will also be opportunities for additional occasional work such as assemblies, festivals and workshops though these are all optional.

You will need to be positive, confident talking to a group of children, and able to take charge of a group of up to 20 children.

Pay is 12.50-17.50 per hour (25-35 per hour long session to allow time for setting up and packing away).

Own transport (car) is essential but full mileage is paid in addition to your hourly rate. We may consider candidates without a car that have access to good public transport options.

The ability to pass an enhanced DBS check and experience working with children in the target age range is essential. You must not apply for this job if you are on the barred list or have been disqualified from working with children.

Providing false information is an offence and could result in the application being rejected or summary dismissal if the applicant has been selected, and referral to the police and/or the DBS.
