After School Club Leader
to join our team.
After School Club Leader
Responsible to:
Club Manager
Remit:
To lead the assigned after-school club, ensuring sessions are
well planned, enjoyable and fun
, while maintaining a safe and inclusive environment for all pupils.
Role & Responsibilities
Be available
at least 5 minutes before the club starts
to collect the register and receive messages from the school office (e.g. pupil absences).
Lead and deliver high-quality after-school sessions, clearly explaining the
aims of the lesson
and how activities will be organised.
Ensure sessions are
well planned, engaging and enjoyable
for all children.
Take the register and ensure that any children who are present in school but not at the club are located with support from the club assistant.
Work effectively with the
club assistant
, providing clear guidance on their role and involving them in activities.
Ensure a
safe and appropriate space
is allocated for pupils' belongings (e.g. violins, PE bags, rucksacks).
Maintain a strong focus on
safeguarding and child protection
, completing annual safeguarding training and following all school policies and procedures.
Be mindful of
Health & Safety
at all times and report any concerns to the line manager.
At the end of the session, ensure children put on coats and hats and escort them to the playground for dismissal in line with the school's procedures.
Leave the room
clean and tidy
after each session.
Return the completed register to the designated area outside the school office.
Provide
club planning at the start of each term
.
Essential Requirements
Level 3 qualification
in childcare, playwork, education, or a related field
Experience working with school-aged children
A good understanding of safeguarding and child wellbeing
Strong communication and organisational skills
