We are looking for passionate and dynamic

After School Club Teachers

to deliver fun and engaging STEM-based (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Maths) activities for children aged 6-11 at a primary school in

YORK YO31

. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone who loves working with children and has a background or interest in STEM education.

The club runs weekly from 3:20 pm to 4:30 pm on Tuesdays and Wednesdays afternoons during term time and includes hands-on projects like building simple LEGO spacestations, telescopes, and showing how things work using creative problem-solving and teamwork.

Key Responsibilities

- Deliver weekly STEM-themed afterschool sessions (approx. 60 minutes)

- Plan and prepare age-appropriate, hands-on activities

- Set up and pack down materials before and after sessions (materials are provided)

- Create a positive, inclusive, and safe learning environment

- Engage and motivate children to explore STEM concepts

- Communicate with school staff and parents as needed

- Track attendance and contribute to short session reports

Requirements

- Experience working with children in an educational or childcare setting

- Interest or background in STEM (especially engineering, science, or design)

- Excellent classroom or group management skills

- Reliable, punctual, and highly organised

- Enhanced DBS (or willingness to undergo a check)

- First Aid trained (preferred, but not essential - training can be provided)

- Eligibility to work in the UK
