About the Role:
Young Engineers Birmingham - Harborne & Sutton Coldfield is seeking an enthusiastic, reliable, and engaging
STEM Workshop Instructor
to lead our hands-on engineering and coding sessions for children aged 6-12. Our workshops use LEGO-based models and structured learning materials to teach science, technology, engineering, and maths (STEM) concepts in a fun and creative way.
Key Responsibilities:
Deliver weekly STEM workshops on Sundays using Young Engineers' curriculum and materials
Set up and pack down classroom spaces before and after each session
Guide children through model-building, engineering principles, and basic coding
Foster a safe, supportive, and engaging learning environment
Communicate effectively with parents and guardians at drop-off and pick-up
Track attendance and report any issues or feedback to the programme coordinator
Session Times:
Bricks Challenge (Ages 6-9):
10:30 AM - 11:30 AM
AlgoPlay (Ages 9-12):
12:00 PM - 1:00 PM
(Instructors must be available between 10:00 AM and 1:30 PM for setup and transitions)
Requirements:
Experience working with children in educational, childcare, or extracurricular settings
Passion for STEM education and making learning fun
Excellent communication and classroom management skills
DBS check (or willingness to obtain one)
Punctual, organised, and dependable

Full training will be provided
, and the candidate
must be available to attend all required training sessions
prior to starting
Training includes hands-on model practice and delivery techniques based on our award-winning curriculum
Desirable:
Background in teaching, tutoring, engineering, science, or computing
Experience with LEGO Education, robotics, or STEM clubs
