We're looking for someone to lead our after-school cookery clubs at primary schools in Stratford-upon-Avon - Holy Trinity, The Croft, Bridgetown and Alveston.

If you love food and cooking and have experience working with children, this role could be perfect for you.

You'll be leading four after-school cookery clubs at primary schools in Stratford each week during termtime, on Mondays, Wednesdays, Thursdays and Fridays. There will be the option to add a class to make the role five classes per week.

The clubs themselves run for approximately one hour after school. The total time needed to prep, set up, run, clear up and wash up after each class is about 2.5 hours. We pay 42 per class, including an allowance for laundry and dishwashing costs.

The classes are never boring, constantly engaging and by turns fun, challenging, hilarious, messy and, ultimately, very rewarding.

No specific like-for-like experience is required but you will need to be comfortable working on your own with groups of 15 primary aged children (this is the standard class size) and you will need to be based within 20 minutes drive of Stratford town centre.

Running the classes is a lot of fun and seeing how the pupils grow in confidence and proficiency is hugely rewarding - this is what Lorraine, class leader since 2013, says about it:

Main responsibilities

You will be responsible for leading classes after school on Monday, Wednesday, Thursday and Friday afternoons during term-time. Start times for classes range from 3.15 to 4.05pm, depending on the school. A little bit of prep of ingredients and equipment is usually required before leaving for the class and you will need to be at each school about 15 minutes before the class starts in order to set up. After delivering the class, the area has to be cleaned up and left neat and tidy. Apart from that it's just washing up the dirty dishes when you get home - a dishwasher is essential.

Total time required for prep, running and clear-up of each class is approx 2.5 hours. We pay 42 per class.

Main requirements

A keen interest in food and cookery, an enthusiasm for communicating that interest and an aptitude for working with children are important but no specific experience is required.

We supply all equipment and ingredients but you need to provide your own transport - a full UK driving license and your own car are requirements for this role.

The work is carried out in schools so we will carry out an enhanced DBS check before you can start.
