We are seeking a confident and capable individual with a passion for drama and a great rapport with children to join the Zylo team from September. The role involves leading after-school drama clubs at primary schools in the Lewes area.
Responsibilities:
Lead and supervise after-school drama club activities for children.
Utilise teaching and communication skills to engage and inspire young participants.
Manage children's behaviour in a positive and constructive manner.
Provide a safe and inclusive environment for children to explore drama.
Requirements:
Must be over 18 years old (as this is a lone-working childcare role, we can only hire adults).
Must have access to their own vehicle or be able to easily access the required schools via public transport.
Must have experience or qualifications in drama, the performing arts, or a related discipline.
Must have an engaging and charismatic personality.
Experience working with children is preferred but not essential.
Details:
The drama sessions take place after school on a weekly basis for one hour, usually between 3:20 PM and 4:20 PM, at local primary schools.
Payment is 32.50 per session.
Three afternoons are available to start from September (Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Fridays), with the potential for additional sessions and occasional cover shifts.
The position is well-suited for individuals with another morning/evening job, those on a gap year, or students with a flexible timetable.
Preparatory training, ongoing support, session plans, first aid training, and safety instruction are provided by Zylo.
Additional daytime work may be available for tutors with skills in guitar, singing, keyboard, or drumming.
Important:
We are only seeking tutors in the Lewes area at this time. This job is not suited to anyone living more than a 30-minute drive from the town. We will reject any applicants not located in the town or very close by.
