We are seeking a talented and passionate Chef to join our catering agency team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in food preparation, a thorough understanding of food safety, and excellent kitchen operations management skills. As a Chef, you will be responsible for preparing high-quality meals, overseeing kitchen staff, and maintaining the highest standards of food quality and presentation. Your leadership will help foster a positive and productive work environment, delivering exceptional dining experiences to our residents.
Responsibilities
Prepare and cook high-quality meals in accordance with established menus and standards
Oversee daily kitchen operations, ensuring efficiency and compliance with food safety regulations
Manage inventory, including ordering supplies and maintaining adequate stock levels
Maintain cleanliness and organisation of the kitchen in line with health and safety guidelines
Monitor food production to ensure quality control throughout service
Requirements
Proven experience as a Chef or in a similar culinary role within a care home setting
Strong knowledge of culinary techniques, food safety standards, and kitchen management
Understanding of dietary requirements in care homes (e.g., diabetes, swallowing difficulties)
Excellent leadership skills with the ability to motivate and inspire a team
Proficiency in various cooking methods, seasoning, and food presentation
Ability to work well under pressure in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail
Strong communication skills for effective collaboration with colleagues
A passion for food and elderly care, with a commitment to providing exceptional experiences
Minimum Level 2 Food Safety qualification
