We are seeking dedicated and resilient Agency Children's Residential Support Workers to provide consistent, nurturing, and professional support across various residential homes. As an agency worker, you will enjoy

Key Responsibilities

Provide Nurturing Care:

Act as a positive role model, establishing trusting and supportive relationships with children and young people, promoting their emotional, social, and physical well-being.

Daily Life Support:

Assist with and encourage daily routines, including educational activities, meal preparation, household tasks, personal hygiene, and managing medication (where required and trained).

Behaviour and Emotional Support:

Implement agreed-upon care plans and behaviour management strategies, providing emotional support during difficult times and positively challenging unacceptable behaviour.

Promote Development:

Organise and participate in recreational, educational, and social activities both within the home and the community to encourage skill development and positive outcomes.

Safeguarding:

Ensure the safety and welfare of all residents, adhering strictly to all safeguarding and child protection policies and procedures, and maintaining accurate and timely records/reports.

Teamwork and Liaison:

Work collaboratively with colleagues, managers, and external agencies (e.g., schools, social workers, health professionals) to ensure a consistent and high standard of care.
Essential Requirements & Skills

Experience:

Previous experience working with children or young people with complex needs, challenging behaviour, or in a residential, care, or education setting.

Professionalism:

A commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people.

Personal Attributes:

High levels of patience, empathy, resilience, and a positive, non-judgemental attitude.

Communication:

Excellent verbal and written communication skills for interacting with young people, colleagues, and other professionals, including accurate record-keeping.

Flexibility:

Willingness to work a varied shift pattern, including evenings, nights, weekends, and 'sleep-in' duties, as required by the nature of agency work.

Compliance:

Successful completion of an enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check (or equivalent) and two satisfactory references.

Driving Licence (Desirable):

A full, clean driving licence is often advantageous.

Qualifications (Highly Desirable):

A Level 3 Diploma in Residential Childcare (or equivalent/working towards) is preferred, but relevant experience is highly valued.
