What you will be doing

You will be on a development pathway to prepare you to be a Structural Optimisation Engineer and can expect to be involved in the following:

Performing optimisation studies for composite and metallic structures using both in-house and/or commercial optimisation software.

Working on optimisation projects that involve multiple disciplines (e.g. aerodynamics, manufacturing) besides structures.

Building professional connections with multiple departments in the company and identifying collaboration opportunities.

The Graduate programme may involve an overseas placement depending on the specific interests,experience and development needs of the successful candidate for the position.

At the end of the 2 year development programme you will be fully equipped to be a key player as a Structural Optimisation Engineer in the Airframe organisation.

What we look for

To be a successful applicant to the Airbus Global Graduate Programme, you will need to demonstrate;

Educated to a degree level or equivalent within a relevant field of study

Recently graduated or first professional experience in the field of Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering or equivalent.

Strong verbal and written communication in our business language (English)

A desire to work in a collaborative team environment, focused on driving future innovation

The ability to be self aware and a wish to be in the driving seat of your development.

Basic knowledge of Google Workspace

What you will need to apply

Degree type:

Master\xe2\x80\x99s degree or postgraduate degree in the field of Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering or equivalent.

Specific experience or interests:

Interest in optimisation problems ideally in the field of aeronautical structures is essential.

Understanding and practical experience in the analysis and behaviour of composite and metallic structures will be considered a strong benefit.

Familiarity and demonstrated experience with one or more programming languages (e.g. Python, C++, Matlab) is necessary.

Interest and basic experience in the field of aeroelasticity is welcome.

Understanding of manufacturing processes for composite structures or additive manufacturing processes will be considered a plus.

Experience with Linux and scripting languages is highly welcome.

Prior experience with commercial optimisation software (e.g. OptiStruct), commercial pre/post-processing software (e.g. HyperMesh, HyperView, ) and commercial Finite Element platforms (e.g. Nastran, Abaqus) will be considered a plus.

Salary: \xc2\xa331,000
