What you will be doing

You will be on a development pathway to prepare you to be a Wing In-Service Repair Engineer in the Airbus Engineering Wing Repairs organisation.

You will part of the wider repairs organisation giving \xe2\x80\x9cFollow the Sun\xe2\x80\x9d support to keep our fleet of aircraft flying with customers around the world. There are teams around the world to support this, but you will be based primarily in Filton, Bristol. The teams collaborate to provide repair solutions from small items fixed in minutes, to major incidents taking weeks or months to define.

Wing Repairs covers the whole of the Airbus commercial fleet, from the remaining A300\xe2\x80\x99s flying to the latest A350. The Wing Repairs organisation also collaborates in the design of the latest aircraft to ensure designs are repairable, along with research into the latest manufacturing methods such as additive layer to create repair parts.

You can expect to be involved in the following:

Static Stress analysis from first principles to GFEM

Fatigue and Damage Tolerance

Design \xe2\x80\x93 CATIA tools, configuration management and DMU

Digitalisation - automating processes using coding skills

You will also develop the following:

Project Management through placements in Chief Engineers or other departments

Business and Financial knowledge

Leadership Skills through working on projects with a broad range of people

Customer focus through potential placement with an airline, supplier or customer support related departments

At the end of the 2 year development programme you will be fully equipped to be a key player as Wing In-Service Repair Engineer.

What we look for

To be a successful applicant to the Airbus Global Graduate Programme, you will need to demonstrate:

Education to a degree level or equivalent within a relevant field of study,

Recently graduated or first professional experience in the field of Aeronautical or Mechanical Engineering

Strong verbal and written communication in our business language (English),

A desire to work in a collaborative team environment, focused on driving future innovation,

The ability to be self aware and a wish to be in the driving seat of your development.

What you will need to apply

Degree type: Aeronautical or Mechanical Engineering (2:1 or higher)

Specific experience or interests:

Natural curiosity and excitement to explore,

Excitement to work in a dynamic and changing environment,

Passion about Aerospace and the challenges of the civil aircraft market,

Sensitivity to clients needs and ability to develop good client relationships,

Proficiency in oral and written communication skills,

Ability to collaborate well within a team,

Good knowledge of coding and data analysis techniques.
