The Role
AIRDAT is seeking a highly organised and motivated Technical Team Lead to guide a growing development team and support the delivery of high-quality software used worldwide by the aviation industry. Reporting to the COO, you will lead day-to-day delivery, facilitate Agile workflows, and ensure work is delivered efficiently, securely and in line with business priorities. The role involves shaping delivery processes, improving system quality, and enhancing the tools and ways of working that support our continued growth. While hands-on coding isn't required, you'll be comfortable engaging in technical discussions, supporting decision-making, and providing the clarity, structure and coaching the team needs to perform at a high standard.
This role is remote, home?based (UK) with occasional travel to Canterbury (e.g. for initial onboarding and sprint planning).
Core ResponsibilitiesTeam Leadership & Delivery
Lead and support the development team, fostering collaboration, accountability and high performance.
Facilitate Agile/Scrum ceremonies (planning, refinement, reviews, retros) and drive continuous improvement.
Work closely with Product and stakeholders to align priorities, break down work, and support predictable delivery.
Support recruitment, onboarding and ongoing coaching, including regular development conversations.
Communicate progress, risks, resourcing needs and dependencies clearly to senior leadership.
Coordinate system updates, create release notes and customer communications.
Technical Direction & Process Improvement
Contribute to architectural discussions, technical decision-making and evaluation of new tools/approaches.
Promote best practices across testing, automation, CI/CD, documentation and secure development.
Ensure the team maintains effective workflows, clear processes and high-quality internal and customer-facing documentation.
Operational & Cross-Functional Support
Participate in operational activities including issue triage, monitoring oversight, reporting, compliance and security reviews.
Collaborate with Customer Support, Product and Development teams to help resolve complex issues and represent customer needs.
Support internal teams by ensuring they have the tools, training and guidance needed to work effectively.

Role Requirements
Required
2 years experience leading a multi-disciplined development team
Formal Scrum Master certification (CSM, PSM or equivalent) with strong practical Agile facilitation skills.Strong understanding of modern software development practices
Excellent communication skills across both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
Proven ability to organise work, manage priorities and support others' development.
Interest in system architecture, design patterns and scalable solution design.
Strong project and delivery management capability.Ability to create clear, accurate and consistent cross-functional documentation
Desireable
Exposure to cloud platforms, security tooling, monitoring or DevOps practices.Experience contributing to systems or solution architecture discussions.Coaching or mentoring experience.
Experience in a small or fast-paced company where responsibilities vary.
