We are seeking a highly motivated and organised Agricultural & Rural Sales Assistant & Warehouse Operative to join our dynamic team at our Kendal Branch at J36. This exciting opportunity is ideal for someone passionate about developing, growing and maximising sales from our Kendal store. The role is for 24 hours per week.
The successful individual will enjoy serving and supporting the Rural and Agricultural industry, ensuring the highest level of customer satisfaction and standards are achieved.

THE JOB
To manage the yard and warehouse, for incoming and despatching of all items, whilst keeping the displays up to date, relevant, clean and presentable. Working with the warehouse team to co-ordinate what goods are coming in at what time. Delivering goods to our customers in a timely manner, assisting in organising outbound deliveries, picking products and loading vehicles.
Actively supports other team members to ensure targets and tasks are completed
Delivers good working relationships with all team members
Promotes the business and work to a required standard
Follows company procedures to complete tasks without assistance
Works to get routine daily tasks done in time and to the standard required
Follows through customer enquiries, requests and problems and deals with them promptly
Confidently deals with customer problems and is able to establish customer needs
To be aware of the risks in the work environment and their potential impact on self, colleagues, customers and visitors and take action to address them
To attend training and develop relevant knowledge and skills
Ensure any deliveries required on the van are done in a timely and professional manner
Keep the yard tidy, presentable with stock rotation
Cover the counter in the store when necessary.
Adhere to Company and Group policies and procedures, including bit not limited to those relating to Safety, Health & Environment.
To ensure all relevant legislation and approved codes of practice are adhered to, in respect of ongoing compliance, including but not limited to UFAS, FIAS & NOPS assurance Schemes.
SKILLS, EXPERIENCE AND QUALITIES REQUIRED
Essential:
Team player, with a genuine interest in helping others
Continuously looking to improve the yard areas and displays
Full UK drivers licence so able to do Van deliveries to customers
Excellent organisational skills, with the ability to liaise between a number of departments
Exceptional customer service skills as dealing with many internal and external customers
Desirable
Agricultural experience.
Competent IT skills and experience of the Microsoft office suite
Amtra SQP qualification
Qualified Forklift Truck and Telehandler Driver with experience in actively loading and unloading vehicles
Holds a tachograph card
Holds a CPC Driving Licence
