AI Integration Engineer

Build AI thatships and solves real problems. Create production?ready AI tools that people actually use.

We're looking for an AI Integration Engineer to help us change how Cambridge Enterprise works - fundamentally. You'll turn real business challenges into practical tools that make our teams faster, smarter, and more effective.

Why you will love this role:

We're starting on our AI transformation journey and we want you to help us shape it.

You'll work closely with the AI Lead and others across the business to spot opportunities, design solutions, and build them - creating a small but mighty software capability within our IT team. Together, you'll gather insights, scope ideas, develop, test, and refine the tools that will help us work better every day and leave your colleagues saying: this saves me hours every week.

Your work will matter. Every day people at Cambridge Enterprise support academics with their world changing technologies. We've supported the development of tech that has transformed DNA sequencing, vaccine development, and how electric cars are refuelled. You'll be creating meaningful tools that make that happen faster and with better quality.

You'll have a choice of Mac or Windows laptop and genuine flexibility in how you do your best work, although we find that some in-office time each week helps build the relationships that will help you succeed.

If you've built or integrated software products before and can connect technical know-how with real business needs, you could be exactly who we're looking for. We don't need a pure AI researcher or a software architect.

What you'll do

You'll work with Microsoft M365 Azure, but also help us find the right tools for the job. Build and integrate AI-enabled solutions that solve real problems for our people. Connect systems like Microsoft Dynamics 365, MS-SQL, and SharePoint so data flows smoothly and securely. Partner with teams to understand their needs, ask the right questions, and design practical solutions. Deliver iteratively: prototype, test, improve, repeat. Help shape how we use AI safely, responsibly, and effectively across the organisation.

What we're looking for

You will have created your own AI agents and have strong experience with system integration and APIs Ideally hands-on experience with CRM or ERP systems such as Dynamics. A problem-solver who's as comfortable gathering requirements as writing code. Someone who finishes what they start - testing, refining, and maintaining what they build. Great communicator who can explain technical things simply and listen to what people really need. Curious, adaptable, and pragmatic - more focused on useful results than shiny tech.

Diversity and equality matter:

These are our ideal requirements, but we know some people are less likely to apply for the role unless they are 100% qualified. At Cambridge Enterprise, we promote a diverse, inclusive and empowering culture, so please apply if you meet the majority of the job requirements.

If you have any questions about the interview process, or if you need any reasonable adjustments, please don't hesitate to contact Natalie or the team at people@enterprise.cam.ac.uk
