We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Air Conditioning Engineer to join our team. The ideal candidate will possess a strong mechanical knowledge and experience in air conditioning systems, including installation, maintenance, and repair. This role requires the ability to read and interpret schematics, lead projects effectively, and ensure that all equipment operates efficiently and safely.
Installation & Commissioning
Install, commission, and test a variety of air conditioning systems (split, VRF/VRV, and multi split systems).
Ensure installations meet manufacturer specifications, client requirements, and industry standards.
Complete commissioning sheets and handover documentation accurately.
Servicing & Maintenance
Carry out planned preventative maintenance (PPM) on a range of air conditioning systems.
Diagnose faults, repair breakdowns, and ensure systems are restored to full operation quickly.
Conduct routine checks, filter changes, and refrigerant top-ups where required.
Technical & Compliance
Maintain up-to-date F-Gas certification and comply with F-Gas regulations when handling refrigerants.
Keep detailed service records, maintenance logs, and F-Gas registers.
Ensure all work complies with company health & safety policies and statutory requirements.
Use diagnostic tools and provide technical feedback to improve system performance.
Customer Service
Liaise directly with clients on-site, providing clear updates and professional advice.
Deliver excellent customer service and represent the company positively at all times.
Stock & Asset Management
Check van stock levels regularly and ensure essential parts and consumables are available for scheduled jobs.
Report low stock, damaged parts, or required materials to the office or stores promptly.
Maintain company tools and equipment in good condition and report any loss, damage, or calibration issues.
Ensure asset registers are kept up to date
Participate in vehicle and tool audits when required.
General Duties
Conduct site surveys to support quoting and project planning.
Keep company vehicle clean and carry out regular van checks.
Participate in regular toolbox talks and training sessions.
Participate in call-out rota and provide emergency support where required.
Report any Health & Safety issues or near-misses promptly.
Maintain a professional appearance and follow company procedures at all times
Qualifications
F-Gas Card
Proven experience as an Air Conditioning Engineer or in a similar role within the HVAC industry.
Strong mechanical knowledge with a focus on air conditioning systems and equipment repair.
Familiarity with reading schematics and technical documents related to HVAC systems.
Experience in maintenance practices related to air conditioning and other mechanical systems.
A valid driving licence is required for travel between job sites within the London area and occasional travel to the Midlands.
