Job Overview

We are seeking a skilled and reliable

Air Source Heat Pump (ASHP) Technician

to join our renewable energy team. The successful candidate will be responsible for the

installation, commissioning, servicing, and maintenance

of air source heat pump systems in domestic and/or commercial properties. This role is ideal for an experienced heating engineer looking to specialise or advance in renewable technologies.

Key Responsibilities

Install, commission, and maintain

air source heat pump systems

(monobloc and split types). Carry out

fault finding, diagnostics, and repairs

on heat pumps and associated components. Integrate systems with underfloor heating, radiators, and hot water cylinders. Conduct

system performance checks

and ensure installations meet manufacturer and MCS standards. Work safely in line with

health and safety

and environmental regulations. Provide excellent

customer service

and technical advice to clients. Complete relevant

documentation, test results, and service reports

accurately. Liaise with design engineers and project managers to ensure installations meet specifications. Maintain tools, equipment, and company vehicle in good condition.

Requirements

Essential:

NVQ Level 2 or 3 in Plumbing, Heating, or equivalent qualification. Proven experience installing or maintaining

air source heat pumps

(e.g., Mitsubishi, Daikin, Vaillant, Samsung). Valid

FGAS Category 1

or

Refrigeration Handling

qualification (if working on split systems). Strong understanding of

heating system design and controls

. Full UK driving licence.

Desirable:

MCS, NICEIC, or equivalent accreditation. Experience with

unvented hot water systems (G3 certification)

. Electrical qualification (Part P or equivalent). Knowledge of solar PV or other renewable systems.
