Job Description

We are seeking an experienced A-Level Maths tutor to support a learner in the TN10 area who requires tailor-made 1:1 tuition. The student has significant potential academically but presents with PDA (Pathological Demand Avoidance) characteristics, meaning a flexible and relationship-based approach to learning is essential.

Role Overview

The tutor will deliver high-level, tailored sessions focused on progression, understanding and preparation for assessment. Sessions will be delivered individually, and consistency is key.

You will:

Deliver targeted A-Level Maths support Scaffold learning to reduce overwhelm or avoidance Build rapport and deliver sessions at suitable pace Record attendance and progress Adapt instructional strategies around student tolerance and readiness
Requirements

Applicants must demonstrate:

Strong subject competence in A-Level Mathematics Experience with PDA or similar presentations Experience supporting young people with SEND Professional, patient and structured approach
Evidence of:

SEND experience Training or relevant CPD in autism/PDA Positive behaviour strategies QTS required
will be considered an advantage.

Hours & Availability

Part-time, flexible role Typically within school hours (9:00-15:00) In-person required near TN10
Pay

30-35 per hour depending on experience and qualifications
