Stoke on Trent City Council is committed to providing high-quality services to our community.

We are committed to creating a fair, green, and more inclusive environment for all our residents.

Join us and contribute to making a positive impact on our community.

We are seeking two dedicated and experienced Senior Commissioning and Contracts Officers to support our All Age Transport service, each managing a small team of officers, focusing on SEN, travel training, the fleet, mainstream settings and social care.

There is an expectation the post holder will be knowledgeable and flexible to work across all cohorts with appropriate support and training.

Working as part of a busy and responsive team, you will be responsible for all age transport services.

The core duties of the role include supporting a team of transport officers, fleet supervisor and travel trainer, planning and resourcing journeys both internally, using our own fleet and externally with approved Private Hire and Taxi suppliers.

You will be responsible for managing a large number of transport contracts, for which you will be monitoring performance and reviewing efficiency and cost effectiveness, whilst ensuring compliance.

We're seeking someone who is an excellent communicator with the ability to work independently but also collaboratively within a wider team.

You'll enjoy building effective working relationships with other service areas and colleagues, understanding their needs but also being able to communicate difficult messages when needed.
