PURPOSE OF THE ROLE

  • The Operations Manager will play an important role in supporting and delivering operational excellence to facilitate wider team objectives. They will contribute to legal transformation initiatives and help future-proof the delivery of legal services, ensuring the team remains at the forefront of innovation and client value.
  • You can expect to be involved in a varied and fast-paced role, driving project delivery and being involved in engagements which stretch across different areas of the business.
  • You will be working alongside the ALS team, the wider Innovation Group (including Legal Technology), and private practice teams to deliver the core ALS service offerings.
THE TEAM
  • The team forms part of the Innovation Group, which includes ALS, legal technology and research & knowledge services. The innovation group is tasked with driving innovation and transforming the delivery of services to our clients
  • The ALS team work close closely with the different practice groups, aligning ALS services as appropriate with the relevant specialisms within the practice groups.
  • There is close collaboration with private practice teams delivering services to clients where ALS services as also delivered or a business development opportunity exists.
  • You will be at the forefront of legal innovation with our ALS team, redefining how we deliver value to our clients. A strategic focus for many of our clients looking to transform and digitise the delivery of services and drive new ideas and approaches forward.
WHAT TO EXPECT IN THIS ROLE
You will be:
  • Assisting the ALS team with operational requirements related to the design and delivery of legal services provided to clients under the ALS portfolio and contributing to legal transformation initiatives.
  • Supporting the optimisation of workflows, continuous improvement initiatives, and the implementation and utilisation of technology solutions to enable efficient delivery.
  • Assisting with client reporting including gathering and analysing data to inform decision-making.
  • Planning and managing project timelines and tasks to ensure projects are delivered on time and in accordance with project requirements. Coordinating with different teams involved, ensuring alignment with organisational priorities, and delivering measurable outcomes.
  • Deliver change management initiatives, including developing and executing detailed change plans that cover implementation approach, phasing, communications, and training to ensure changes are well-received, sustainable, and deliver measurable benefits for both legal and business teams.
  • Working with the wider ALS team to help design and build the core ALS services and developing client marketing content.
  • Liaising with private practice and wider Innovation Group teams to build, align and market ALS services to clients (as appropriate).
  • Working with clients to onboard/ transition them to AG ALS services, completing require readiness and design/ engagement activity as required.
YOUR AREAS OF KNOWLEDGE AND EXPERTISE
To be successful in this role, you will have:
  • 4+ years of legal industry experience in operations management
  • Strong project management skills with the ability to manage complex projects from planning to execution, ensuring timely completion, including experience of delivering change management initiatives.
  • Excellent communication skills to effectively liaise with key stakeholders, both internal and external.
  • Experience of collecting, interpreting, and presenting data to inform decision-making, track performance, and measure the impact of changes.
  • Experience in process mapping and improvement analyse and make changes to legal processes to drive improvements.
  • Experience with legal technology tools and how to embed them within legal processes.
