We are looking for a person to deliver high-quality, restorative and inclusive education to students aged from primary through to post 16, including those with SEMH, EHCPs, LAC, and permanently excluded learners. Lessons will take place both in classrooms, outside and on a working farm, promoting engagement through creative and practical learning.
You will play a vital role in students' lives by providing them with the emotional, social, and academic support they need to succeed. Working closely with the team and external agencies, you will be responsible for delivering tailored interventions that address the specific needs of everyone.
This role is term time only plus holiday entitlement
Some of the Key Responsibilities:
Build positive relationships with students and create a restorative environment where they feel safe and valued
Adapt curriculum and teaching strategies to meet the diverse needs of students with SEN
Plan and implement a curriculum that engages all students e.g. themed approach, maths and English and PHSE
Plan and support the re-integration of students back into mainstream education, where appropriate
Use the outside and farm environment to enhance learning in core subjects and life skills
Oversee the work of the teaching assistants
Collaborate with teachers, parents, and other professionals to create individualised education plans
Provide guidance and support to students, helping them overcome challenges and achieve their academic goals
Provide one-on-one and group sessions to address social emotional and behavioural issues
Collaborate with teachers and other staff members to implement strategies for improving student well-being and academic performance
Maintain a safe, inclusive, and stimulating learning environment both in the classroom and outdoors.
Support the attendance, safeguarding and quality assurance in the provision, working with the Head and Deputy to ensure accountability and improvements
Skills and experience required:
Previous experience working with young people with challenging needs
Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to empathise and build relationships with students from diverse backgrounds
Knowledge of safeguarding procedures and a commitment to promoting the welfare of young people
Ability to work collaboratively in a team or independently when required
Flexibility, resilience, and a positive attitude towards overcoming challenges
