Job Description

We are looking for a kind, caring and well organised Senior Care Assistant to join our amazing team of carers within our Extra Care Unit based in Eastbourne, 'Cranbrook Court'.

As a Senior Care Assistant , you will be supporting our residents to live more independently within their own homes.

This can be on a full or part-time basis but alternative weekends are essential as well as on call responsibilities.

Main responsibilities:

Willing to support with personal care/meal preparation/shopping/light household duties/assisting with medication. To mentor new/existing care staff. To deliver high quality care to all residents. To assist new residents to adapt to Extra Care living and manage theirs and their family's expectations. To proactively re-able residents and promote independence. To support Team Leader and/or Branch/Registered Manager as required. To assist with Care planning documentation ensuring notes and tasks are completed accurately and in line with Company Policy. To deal with and arrange residents' visits with professionals such as GP's, OT's, DN's and other multi-disciplinary teams. To be the 'go to' person on duty for other carers.

About you:

Strong organisational skills. Driving License and access to your own vehicle Excellent verbal/written communication skills. Relationship building skills. Demonstrate initiative and a can-do attitude. Committed to delivering high standards. Familiar with domiciliary or Extra Care environments. Previous care experience is essential for this role. You need to enjoy working with older people and have an empathy with them. Self-motivated and able to use your own initiative.

Requirements

2+ years of experience in a senior care role preferred but not essential Minimum NVQ Level 2 in Health & Social Care You must be willing to undergo a full Disclosure and Barring Service process.
