Job Description

The remit of the Development Office is to develop and strengthen the University's position at the forefront of teaching, learning and research by inspiring active participation, investment and loyalty to St Andrews. We do this through fundraising for key University priorities and developing mutually beneficial relations with over 70,000 alumni, friends and benefactors worldwide.





The University is currently embarking on a range of exciting fundraising projects having launched the public phase of the Making Waves Campaign in September 2024, with a target of 300m. The role of the Alumni Relations team within Development is to engage with our global network of alumni and families of current students to create and enhance opportunities for interaction and involvement for both communities. Our aim is to encourage lifelong engagement with and loyalty to the University, which may translate into volunteer and/or financial support of the University.



We are now seeking a forward thinking, creative, well-organised and highly motivated individual with excellent communications and people skills to take on the key position of Alumni Relations Officer within the Alumni Relations Team, as part of the wider Alumni and Supporter Engagement Team in Development.





The successful applicant will be educated to degree standard, have previous experience in working within a complex, multi-stakeholder organisation and ideally have experience in an Alumni Relations, membership services or marketing communications/events role. The post holder will collaborate extensively across the development team, and the wider University community to contribute to the delivery of the Alumni Relations strategic plan.



Based in the St Andrews town centre office, the successful applicant will also be expected to contribute to all aspects of the Development team's activities, as required, and have a positive attitude towards working across a range of projects and with different teams.
