We are thrilled to be supporting our client, a leading Scottish Law Firm, to recruit an AML Compliance Officer to join their team on a full time, permanent basis. Our client is a leading law firm with an offices across Scotland. You will manage the firms compliance strategy, coordinating all client matters and take on procedures in line with AML procedures and regulations. What you\'ll do

  • Carry out AML and CDD checks on all new matter and clients to ensure they comply with regulations
  • Analyse high risk factors
  • Provide advice to Partners and fee earners to ensure appropriate CDD is obtained
  • Challenge the content of CDD forms when required and liaise with fee earners and managers
  • Carry out analysis on sanctions notifications
  • Investigate and escalate potential issues to the MLRO
  • Liaise with internal colleagues and report on clients who do not have appropriate CDD
  • Carry out all identity verification checks
  • Review all incoming funds to the firms client account
  • Prepare and review risk assessments of clients
  • Produce reports and statistics regularly for the Partners and Managers
  • Draft Suspicious Activity Reports submitting these to the National Crime Agency whilst keeping all internal records up to date
  • Draft and update all AML procedures on a regular basis, in accordance with regulatory changes and firms policy
  • Assist the team in auditing CDD forms and client files, reporting on findings and providing feedback when required
  • Support the Compliance Manager with other compliance related work as required
What you\'ll need
  • Strong in-depth experience within AML compliance, ideally within a law firm
  • Solid knowledge and experience of compliance with all applicable UK AML, CFT and sanctions legislation
  • Experience of Corruption and Anti Bribery compliance
  • Confident with an ability to take the initiative
  • Highly organised, excellent time management skills
  • Effective communication skills, both oral and written
  • Ability to work under pressure and to tight deadlines
  • Exceptional levels of accuracy, problem-solving ability and attention to detail
  • Strong stakeholder management skills
  • Highly analytical
