Key Requirements

Atlantic Biogas Ltd operate several renewable energy process plants on the East Coast of Scotland.

A suitably experienced and trained anaerobic digestor plant operator is required to undertake this central control room night operator role, experience with AD gas to grid operations is required.

Duties

The operator will primarily be a part of a night shift pattern that undertakes the central control room function for remote monitoring and adjustment of plant status for multiple sites using PC based systems and CCTV. The shift pattern will be typically four shifts worked on followed by four days off covering every day of the year.

The control room function can be at the postholders home base, at one of our operating plants or a designated office near their home locale, anywhere in the Glenrothes to Dundee to Aberdeen area.

In the control room setting, the postholder will be helping optimise the operation of several plants with ongoing supervision and adjustments to set points, attending to remote alarm reset, undertaking remote diagnostic evaluation and other inputs to facilitate the plant process and achieve good sustained plant output.

From the postholder will undertake subsequent first call-out response to sites to restore the plant operation where on site intervention is required or despatch on-call operational colleagues for call-out response.

Additional cover shifts for colleagues in the night shift pattern shall be required form time to time as well as infrequent cover for day shift colleagues (where practical) or assistance with infrequent day needs and occasional maintenance needs.

Postholder shall work a base 38 hours per week.

Additional and cover day shift-based activities include:

1. Support the Operational Manager in delivering the operational objectives helping to provide him/her with plant status awareness and care in coordinating actions on the ground.

2. Operational diary and operational administration that is co-compatible with the control room duties

Day Shift cover:

3. Taking samples of feedstock for quality control testing, measurement of feedstock received and other seasonal activities

4. Undertaking plant equipment checks and daily operational update meetings

5. First line maintenance of plant an equipment (including pumps, mixers, valves, motors, gearboxes) as well as occasional roles in some planned and unplanned maintenance work

6. Taking samples for basic analysis onsite or analysis offsite by others

7. Plant operational record keeping and contribution to the preparation of site performance and data reports;

Shall be physically fit to undertake lone working, complete appropriate medical questionnaire requirements, have the right to reside in the UK and have a current licence to drive in the UK
