Credit, sitting within the Capital Markets division, is a key pillar of OMERS investment strategy, providing a solid and reliable income stream that helps offset capital markets volatility. The Global Credit team brings together a team of research analysts across industry sectors, geographies, and parts of the capital structure, with the goal of selecting strong risk-return investment opportunities across public and private credit markets. .

The role
The Analyst will join the European Credit team that invests primarily in sub-investment grade public leveraged loans and high yield as well as CLOs and private credit.

Key tasks

As a member of this team, you will be responsible for:
Assessing public and private credit investment opportunities within Europe, with the objective of producing solid investment recommendations and returns

Performing comprehensive credit analysis and financial modelling to produce investment analysis that can be executed upon

Assessing relative trade ideas within the European credit market

Assisting members of the team with portfolio construction and management

Qualifications & Key Skills

To succeed in this role, you will have:
Ca. 2 years of experience in credit investing, leveraged finance, investment banking, or private equity

Knowledge and understanding of the European or North American Leveraged Finance market

Strong analytical skills with experience and financial modelling, with expertise with Microsoft Excel and Bloomberg

Experience with strategies involving leveraged loans and/or private credit

Strong verbal and written communication skills and interpersonal skills

Ability to work both independently and with a team, while fostering a collegial and creative team culture

Ability to conduct research, draw insights and convey complex ideas clearly and concisely

Additional European languages would be a plus
