We are seeking a dedicated individual to undertake day-to-day housekeeping, cleaning, and van driving duties within our Bioresearch & Veterinary Services facilities. Responsibilities include essential sterilisation support in the wash-up areas, such as cleaning used rodent cages and rodent drinking water bottles. The role requires the ability to work in a physically demanding environment. There are no minimum qualifications, though knowledge of animal welfare and husbandry is advantageous. You will be primarily based at the BioQuarter, with potential requirements to cover colleagues' leave at Easter Bush, Western General, and King's Buildings.
Your skills and attributes for success:
Understanding of the welfare needs of animals, including the provision of food, water, and a safe environment.
Good communication skills, with the ability to communicate in English both verbally and in writing, accurately and in a timely manner. Strong attention to detail and the ability to follow instructions
Awareness of Health and Safety, particularly manual handling. Ability to lift 22 Kgs and push cage racks weighing 90 - 130 Kgs.
Must hold a current UK driving licence.
Familiarity with standard IT equipment and basic computer skills to complete online training sessions, send/receive emails and request annual leave.
