Overview

We are seeking dedicated and compassionate Animal Care Relief.

An animal loving person required to look after 15 rescue cats who live in their own log cabin at my property and 2 old rescue dogs. Routine normally consists of 7 am - can be earlier if you are an early riser - let out, clean and feed - 1.5 hours, 5 mornings a week and 5 evenings - feed and put away approx 5pm for 1 hour.

Sunday Monday Tuesday Thursday Friday both shifts.... 2 days off in the week, Wednesday and Saturday. It would be approximately 3 weeks work ON... 5 days OFF, then another 3 weeks work..then about 3 weeks off (this may change due to flights) Then the rotation would start again . This is to cover busy work commitments for a family working abroad.. all the animals have been rescued by us and brought back from Cyprus

Work location is BA4 4SZ between Frome and Shepton Mallet

The ideal candidate will possess a strong passion for animal welfare, excellent communication skills, and the ability to perform physical tasks associated with animal care.

Responsibilities

Provide daily care for animals, including feeding, grooming, and exercising. Maintain cleanliness of animal habitats and facilities to ensure a safe environment. Monitor the health and behaviour of animals, reporting any concerns . Assist in veterinary procedures as needed, including administering medications Handle animals safely and effectively, ensuring their comfort during interactions.

Requirements

Previous experience in animal care or a related field is preferred. Must drive Capability to perform heavy lifting as required when handling larger animals or equipment. A genuine passion for animal welfare and the ability to work well in a team environment. Flexibility to work varied shifts, including weekends and holidays as needed.
