Animal Care Technician

Fixed Term for 12 months - ideally starting on 05/01/2026 27,560.00/annum 32 days annual holiday (inclusive of Bank Holidays) - pro rate for part-time staff 40hrs/week, over 7-day rota
(Willing to consider applications for less than 40hrs/week and/or Term Time Only working)

Animal Care Technician

to join our team to help care for a variety of animals while supporting young people with SEND to gain hands-on skills and confidence.

EMA at The Walled Garden is a public attraction with a difference. Students study and gain work experience on-site, alongside our garden and hospitality professionals, all working in tandem to provide a vibrant space for learning, and a destination for those looking for a family day out.

From pygmy goats to exotic bugs and reptiles, our diverse family of animals make us a unique location in Dorset, and the animals are a key part of the site. In this role, you'll ensure the highest standards of animal welfare, assist with feeding and health checks, and guide students through daily routines and learning activities. This is a rewarding, varied role combining practical animal care with meaningful educational support.
