Animal Care Technician

to join our friendly team at

Peterborough College

This is an exciting opportunity for someone who's passionate about animal welfare, enjoys hands-on work, and takes pride in creating a safe and stimulating environment for both animals and students.

You'll play a key role in maintaining our animal care facilities and supporting learners as they gain valuable practical experience with a wide variety of species.

What you'll do



Provide daily care and husbandry for a range of animals Supervise and support students undertaking practical activities Assist lecturers in preparing and running animal care sessions Maintain stock levels, equipment and facilities to a high standard Ensure the animal units remain clean, safe and well-organised Support weekend feeding duties on a rota basis Promote good health, safety and welfare practices at all times

About you



We'd love to hear from you if you have: A

Level 3 qualification in Animal Care or Management (or equivalent)

Experience working with a variety of animals A caring, practical, and proactive approach to animal welfare Strong teamwork, organisation, and communication skills A genuine interest in supporting students in their learning
Experience ordering stock or completing maintenance tasks would be a bonus, but full training and support will be provided.
