The Role/Opportunity



Monkfield Reptile are a well-established market leader in live food, reptiles and reptile products serving the pet industry globally.

A new position is available for an Animal Husbandry Technician to support the daily care, welfare, and presentation of our extensive reptile collection. The role blends hands?on reptile husbandry with precise administrative and operational tasks, ideal for someone who is passionate about reptiles and thrives in a detail?driven environment. Key Responsibilities



Reptile husbandry and welfare - Daily care of diverse reptile species, including feeding, cleaning, monitoring health, and maintaining correct environmental conditions. Record?keeping and administration - Maintaining accurate husbandry logs, health records, feeding schedules, and internal databases. Stock control and inventory management - Monitoring stock levels, updating systems, and supporting ordering and forecasting. Order preparation and packing - Preparing animals and associated items for dispatch, ensuring safe, compliant, and efficient packing. Facility cleanliness and biosecurity - Maintaining high hygiene standards and following strict biosecurity protocols. Cross?team collaboration - Working closely with sales, logistics, and management to support smooth operations.
Health & Safety (applicable to all roles)

Duty of care for yourself and others Accountable for role modelling safe working practices and behaviours. Responsible for the proactive reporting and escalation of health and safety issues and concerns as appropriate.
The ideal candidate will have the following

Experience with reptiles or exotic animals Strong attention to detail Excellent organisational and administrative abilities Comfortable working in a fast?paced environment Ability to follow welfare and biosecurity protocols Good all-round IT Skills Physical capability for hands?on work Adept at learning (we have a database of over 2000 product codes)
Due to our location, you must be able to travel to the office.
